New Building… New Vision…

The opening of Thistley Hough High School’s state-of-the-art £15 million building has ushered in a new era at one of Stoke’s rapidly improving schools. This fabulous new facility will not only provide a modern educational setting for the next generation of young learners, but act as a hub for community involvement.

Working with some of the country’s leading educational architects and ICT specialists Thistley Hough has created a contemporary learning environment which is set to inspire Stoke’s young people.

The tranquil, open, light and airy space has been designed to enable children to concentrate, work purposefully and support each other as they aim to realise their potential.

Inside and outside the classroom, it will allow children’s dreams and imaginations to flourish, demonstrating that with hard work and concentration they can achieve.

Although reputation is important, it is results that matter and this year we are set to see our pupils’ performance at GCSE dramatically improve.

Under a new senior leadership team, headed by Headmistress Holly Hartley, we are instilling a new ‘can do’ culture, where children are challenged to excel and where only the best will do.

Results are our priority, they determine your child’s future and our promise is to enable your children to get the qualifications that will enable them to get on in life.

We want to share our facilities with the community so that everyone in the area will benefit. That is why we will welcome community involvement in the new school with open arms.

Thistley Hough Grammar School for Girls was founded in 1938 and was renowned as a prestigious centre of academic excellence. We have gone out of way to restore those traditional values.

That is why our uniform code is strictly enforced, that is why we have reinstated the school motto and that is why we have reinstated the school honours boards in pride of place to honour and celebrate success.

We are a modern school, with modern methods and a bright new vision, but we value our history and traditional values. We will do whatever it takes to recreate a spirit of excellence.
